Re-Formed Jewelry Artist in Residence at the Mendocino Art Center
During October - December 2025, I was one of the Re-Formed Jewelry Artists In Residence at the Mendocino Art Center. This residency exposed me to the beautiful surrounding nature, which had allowed me to feel serene and peaceful. As a result of these feelings, I embraced my inner children with conversations as a present-day adult. Dinosaurs became subjects I used to communicate the joyous feeling I experienced and the ease I felt. From there, I was given space to experiment various enameling techniques, woodcarving, metal forming, and contemplating how to further intermingle metals and textiles.
Not only was this period magically, it allowed me to be in touch with my intuition and spirituality. I gathered the perspective of making light-hearted work that was prideful and like a hug. This residency also introduced the practice of accompanying each piece with creative writing. My art practice is an act of storytelling and with creative writing it makes a greater impact. This residency concluded with the group exhibition at the Mendocino Art Center: Altar the Present.
