“The Teal Project” is my current ongoing body of work. In December 2025, I began to question what it would look like to analyze a hyper-specific color in a monochromatic format. With this study, new approaches to materials and techniques have arisen like using found objects. Using teal found objects are a challenge and requires a sharp eye to find them. The experiences in which you find them are unique as well. These challenges and experiences lends itself to the background and storytelling of these pieces. Each piece holds specific kinds of personal narratives which are then reflected into general subject manner. Overall, the storytelling from the material is referenced back to the symbolism of the color teal. Rejuvenation. Calm. Balance. Harmony.

Yesterday, had full power
Woke up today its dying
Cross the bridge
To find some
Today I think I’m crying
Pass these Hurdles
I see the sun
Now – I’m sighing
Yesterday heavy weight
Tomorrow…I hope I’m flying
Feel Again
Copper, titanium, reclaimed azobe, found plastic, cotton, embroidery floss, found nails
